confirmatory factor analysis of occupational injuries: presenting an analytical tool

چکیده
results the results show that the individual and demographic factor (idf), organizational factor (of), h & s training factor (tf), workplace-human factor (whf), factor related to type of accident occurrence (taf), h & s risk management system factor (rmsf), and accident time factor (atf) were considered to be effective and significant independent latent factors in occupational injuries. conclusions analytical modeling of structural equations with respect to the cfa approach has shown that occupational injuries are due to the combination of underlying indicator variables and different groups of latent factors. hence, to determine and analyze such injuries, the role of each factor, its underlying components, and its relation with others should be considered, which will make it possible to develop a more structured approach that considers all relevant factors in order to prevent occupational injuries. background occupational injuries are considered to be of great concern in all workplaces and industries, especially in the construction field. objectives the purpose of this study was to determine and analyze the factors contributing to occupational injuries by means of confirmatory factor analysis (cfa). materials and methods this developmental analytical study was implemented based on occupational accidents that occurred within a five-year time frame (2009 to 2013) in 13 large iranian construction workplaces. modeling and data analysis were conducted by implementing the structural equations model (sem) and cfa approaches with the use of statistical software ibm spss amos version 22.0.

متن کاملFactor Analysis of Risk Variables Affecting Occupational Injuries: A Field Study in Construction Projects
Background and Objective: Approximately, half of the occupational accidents are associated with the construction industry in Iran. Therefore, the factor analysis of risk variables affecting occupational injuries in the construction industry can lead to understanding and reducing the rate of injuries in these projects. The purpose of this study was to identify the risk factors affecting the type...

This article is the second of two on the use of confirmatory factor analysis (CFA) as a method to assess construct validity. The construct validation criteria required by the conventional MTMM approach are satisfied only by certain ideal data sets, such as those in which the method variance of measures is very low. The CFA approach to multitraitmultimethod (MTMM) data is more general, in that v...
متن کاملOn The Factor Structure invariance of the PhD UEE Using Multigroup Confirmatory Factor Analysis
The aim of the current study was twofold: (1) to validate the internal structure of the general English (GE) section of the university entrance examination for Ph.D applicants into the English programs at state universities in Iran (Ph.D. UEE), and (2) to examine the factor structure invariance of the Ph.D. UEE across two proficiency levels. Structural equation modeling (SEM) was used to analyz...
متن کاملACSPRI Paper – in progress. Confirmatory factor analysis of the Occupational Stress Inventory-Revised among Australian teachers
Assessing teacher stress has been a difficult and complex process, especially when comparisons across different professions have been considered. The Occupational Stress InventoryRevised (OSI-R) offers a means of making such comparisons. The OSI-R model is theory-based and assesses the effects on the individual of three areas: occupational roles, psychological strain and coping resources. This ...
